The cheapest Michelin-star restaurant hailing from Singapore is finally here in Melbourne. We can finally indulge in Chan Hong Meng’s hawker stall signature dishes including ‘3 type roast platter’, ‘crispy pork with noodles’, ‘soya chicken with rice noodles’ and ‘bbq pork on rice’.
Six months since opening, Hawker Chan is still bustling with patrons, either visiting for the first time since they opened in October 2017, or re-visiting for a cheap yet delicious feed.
It was the latter for us, revisiting with an appetite to try Hawker Chan’s variety of dishes. We were recommended to Hawker Chan’s signature dishes along with their crowd popular dishes – Wonton soup, seasonal veggies and Thai style tofu.

Whilst I would recommend all the dishes pictured in the flat lay above, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting to order the 3 type platter. The 3 type platter offers a platter full of bbq pork, pork rib and roast pork and is perfect for any lover of meat. The stand out meat would definitely be the pork rib that is basted with their secret sauce, that’s sweet and slightly sour. So finger licking good. Yum!

Vegans fret not, Hawker Chan offers a variety of vegan dishes that will satisfy your hunger including seasonal greens, soya bean sprouts and Thai style tofu. It’s also suited for people who are looking for low carb options. The Thai style tofu was truly decadent with fried tofu pieces lathered with sweet chilli sauce.

It was without a doubt a tasty feed and I can understand why there are patrons lining up to try Hawker Chan. Quality fresh produce with a great price point. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a delicious and cheap feed.
