So I recently discovered Eat Fit Food that offers the service of delivering freshly prepared meals to your doors. Eat Fit Food offers 5 different programs to choose from – 28 Day program, Clean + Lean, Cleanse, Health Eating, Meal Packs, plus they offer catering.
Mid 2016, I left my very comfortable job to start a new journey at a multinational firm that has taken me out of my comfort zone. Starting this new job meant less time to meal prep which resulted in unhealthy eating habits. Fast forward to late November and early December, I decided to work my health and fitness.I decided to go with the 5-Day Cleanse program for the main reason of reset my eating habits and kick start my system with meal program that is gluten free, dairy free and red meat free.
I started off the morning with a beautiful Hatha Yoga class at Kaya Health Club. Yoga brings mental strength that I need to get through my busy and sometimes stressful day, and has taught me to listen to my body.
After my yoga class I made my way to my office, where I knew I had my Eat Fit Food delivery ready for me. I started my Eat Fit Food Cleanse program with their rejuvenate cleansing juice. The rejuvenate juice is made with apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, watercress, beetroot and ginger. It was incredibly refreshing to drink this healthy concoction.
Shortly after my juice I had my health breakfast of Grain and seed coconut crunch with salted caramel almond milk with some grilled bananas. I love how the grain and seed coconut crunch has no added sugar, and the only sweetness is coming from the salted caramel almond milk and grilled bananas. Oh, and of course I needed my morning coffee – because no day is complete without coffee right?!
After a morning of meetings, responding to emails and work, it was time to have a healthy lunch of linguini pomodoro with vegan ‘tuna’. This was probably my most favourite meal for the day – the pasta was cooked al dente, and the pomodoro sauce and vegan tuna was light and well seasoned. I was left feeling content and not overly full.
To get me through to my morning and afternoon between meals, I snacked on an apple and trail mix that was included in the delivery. I’ve always been told to have healthy snacks to stop yourself from over eating!
After my last meeting and brief chats, it was time to head home. Once I arrived home I drank a big glass of water, showered and it was time for dinner. Lately I’ve been eating spinach, egg whites and a source of protein for dinner, so it was welcoming to have something different for once. For dinner tonight, I had Jerk chicken salad with chargrilled corn and chimchuri. Whilst the chicken may look rather bland, it was intact flavoursome and delicious. I love the healthy serving of vegetables and the colour it brought to my plate.
It’s been a real positive experience so far, and I can’t wait for tomorrow’s meals. I haven’t looked at the menu yet, but I do know it’s sitting in the fridge at work! Stayed tuned for day 2 tomorrow!
