Cupcake Central Workshop is opened by Sheryl, an ex IT consultant. Due to the economic downturn she lost her IT consulting job, but was able to use that opportunity to chase her dream of opening a cupcake store! Truly inspirational :) Read her full story on her about page at the link included above.
Her first store is located in Shop 7/672 Glenferrie Road, Melbourne 3122, and just recently opened her store at the newly renovated Level 2 Dining Hall.
So, ever since I had my tiramisu cupcake at Cupcake Bakery, I’ve been on a cupcake mission to search for the next best cupcake! To my knowledge, Melbourne has three different cupcake stores: Cupcake Central, Cupcake Bakery and Little Cupcakes.
It just so happened that the week I was attending Jury Duty, that I was able to have a cupcake every day! (Surprisingly no weight gain!), however that whole week I wasn’t able to attend Cupcake Central because I was way too early, and no time at the end of the days to get one. So yesterday I made it my goal to go to Cupcake Central Workshop to pick up some cupcakes for myself and my friends!
The first thing I did when I arrived in the CBD was made my way to the newly renovated dining hall on level 2 of Melbourne Central, and walked over to Cupcake Central.
What I really love about the store is the touches they’ve made to the store, very chic and modern, and getting to see the bakers work their magic!
Also the names of the cupcakes are labeled on wooden forks! How cute :)
Anyway, I was particularly overwhelmed by the number of choices, that I decided to get the box of 4 for $15, but hey, it didn’t make my choice any easier! But luckily the girl who served me was very nice and helped me pick the last choice!
So, I left the store with the following 4 flavours: Raspberry + White chocolate, Red Velvet, Cookies and Cream and Pear Crumble.
I personally tried both the Red Velvet and Pear Crumble cupcakes, and the rest I gave to my friend Janelle to take home. So hopefully she will comment below to let us know how it tasted!
My favourite out of the two was the Pear Crumble – The cream with the crumble gave it a nice texture, whilst the stewed pear pieces was a lovely surprise!

Raspberry + White chocolate Cupcake, Red Velvet Cupcake, Pear Crumble Cupcake, Cookies and Creams Cupcakes
**Note: The last picture, the cupcakes do look a bit tampered, but this was due to a little accident whilst walking to our high tea! The cupcakes are much more beautiful than that :)

Cookies and cream with Oreo on top was delicious, but the raspberry one was unexpectantly a really nice sour sweetness that I really liked, just because it’s different than my usual chocolate taste, if u like sour sweet u will like that cupcake, I know I want more OMG cupcakes are the best!!
Thank you again for sharing the lovely cupcakes again!!! Shall have more sweet adventures with my sweet friend again Xoxo
@Pinkfinity: Thanks for sharing the comments to myself and my readers :D
I’m glad you enjoyed the flavours. Did you eat it last night? I think we may have overloaded on sugar yesterday :P
