Bowery to Williamsburg on Urbanspoon

Foodie Partners: Serinna

Since the grand opening of Bowery to Williamsburg, I’ve visited it countless number of times. It’s very simple, chic and very American.
On one of my rare day off, I caught up with my gorgeous friend Serinna over lunch. Having not seen her for a while, we sat there chatting for a long while before we placed our order.

To start off with, we had a Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate. I said to Serinna that she must try this drink, as I instantly fell in love with the drink. A very rich and indulgent drink – you can definitely taste the salty note from the peanut butter, and is the perfect pairing for chocolate. The drink also comes with a Reese’s peanut butter cup. I love how all their hot drinks comes with a little piece of chocolate – very similar to the small doughnuts you get at Hardware Societe.

Serinna ordered the Breaded Eggplant with Haloumi Cheese, Roasted Peppers and Preserved Hummus. We both decided to order as a set which comes with a pickle, salad and pretzels. I cant exactly remember the name of the salad, but I do remember it having mushrooms, and lentils. Out of the two items we ordered, I preferred Serinna’s – I love my egg plants and the preserved lemon humus definitely gave it a kick.
The salad itself was very simple and love how they serve it in a glass jar. I love how they served the lunch sets with pretzels – it’s definitely a healthier alternative to chips!

I ordered the Schmaltz Chicken with Apple Celeriac Slaw & Prune Relish. When I took a bite of my sandwich, I was a bit surprised as I was not expecting the sandwich to be sweet, I was expecting it to be more savoury. It was rather strange on the palate, but it was a rather interest sandwich I must admit.
I really enjoyed the potato salad – the potato was starchy and everything that a potato should be!
I also have to add that I love their pickles! Who loves pickles here?! :D

I really like Bowery to Williamsburg for its simplicity, and the service is very attentive! Definitely visit for their hot chocolate and their different lunch choices! Too bad it’s on the other end of the city! Otherwise I would visit more often!

  1. I’m thinking I should try this place. What did your friend think of the eggplant one? Are there any other options for vegetarians?

    • Hey Elisa!

Thanks for dropping by and sorry for the belated response.
Both my friend and I enjoyed the eggplant! As the eggplant was crumbed it gave it extra texture and not a soggy taste to it!
      Highly recommend it!

Sorry, I’m not sure if there are any other vegetarian options though! I didn’t check!
